Our partner is a volunteer-led charity providing confidential emotional support 24 hours a day to people who are struggling to cope. Alongside its core support services, the organisation operates a successful charity shop which provides its largest regular source of income.
The Treasurer will join the Board and Branch Leadership Team, providing oversight of financial governance, controls, reporting, budgets, forecasts, reserves and year-end accounts. They will work closely with the Branch Director and Accountant, with relatively light-touch line management responsibility for the Accountant.
There is also an opportunity for the new Treasurer to help review how the charity’s finance activities are structured and support the development of a more sustainable model, allowing the Treasurer role to become increasingly focused on strategic oversight and governance.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant or bring substantial senior finance experience, with a good understanding of financial controls and accounting principles. Charity finance experience would be valuable but is not essential. The role can be undertaken remotely, with hybrid meetings, and requires approximately 4–6 hours per week.
