Finance Advisory Support

A focused remote advisory assignment for a senior finance professional to support a growing mental health nonprofit as it reviews its financial sustainability, social enterprise model and longer term resilience.

Our partner is a growing mental health nonprofit working with young people and communities in East Africa. The organisation is moving through an important stage of growth and is seeking practical guidance on how to strengthen its finance function, systems and financial oversight.

The organisation has a small team, a growing programme portfolio, and operates through both nonprofit and social enterprise activity. They are now seeking short, focused remote advisory support to help them step back and think through how their emerging structure can support long term sustainability.

Key areas of support are likely to include:

  • Reviewing how new grant opportunities can be aligned with the organisation’s structure across the nonprofit and social enterprise arms.
  • Exploring how the social enterprise could be capitalised and positioned as a revenue generating vehicle to support the nonprofit’s long term sustainability.
  • If time allows, offering feedback on the financial assumptions behind the organisation’s evolving model, including early thinking around unrestricted income, reserves and sustainability planning.

This would suit a senior finance professional with experience in nonprofit finance, financial controls, systems, budgeting and organisational growth.

Experience supporting small or growing organisations, international NGOs, social enterprises, or organisations operating across multiple entities would be particularly helpful.

The support will be delivered remotely and is expected to be light touch and advisory in nature, likely through at least two focused calls with some preparation or follow-up as agreed.

This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys helping mission driven organisations strengthen their financial foundations and make practical decisions about what they need next.
