They support their members throughout their careers, helping them progress, collaborate and innovate so they can deliver the best care for children and adults living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions.
The Honorary Treasurer will join the Board as the organisation prepares its next strategy for 2028–2033. They will provide strategic financial oversight, advise on sustainability, income diversification, investment and risk, chair the Finance and Risk Committee and Audit Committee, and serve as a Director of the organisation’s trading subsidiary.
The ideal candidate will bring strategic finance experience, sound judgement and the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance trustees. A professional qualification and previous trustee experience are not essential, and a full induction and training will be provided.
This is a governance and oversight role rather than a hands-on finance position, with support from an experienced finance team, senior leadership and external advisers. The commitment is approximately two days per quarter, including four Board and Finance and Risk Committee meetings each year and an annual in-person away day.
