Treasurer
Our partner is the US arm of an international movement working alongside people experiencing persistent poverty to strengthen communities, challenge exclusion and ensure that people with lived experience of poverty are central to shaping solutions.
The Treasurer will join the Board at an important point in the organisation’s development, providing strategic oversight as it responds to reduced international funding and strengthens its long-term financial sustainability. They will advise on budgeting, cash flow, financial controls, audit, risk, reserves and major financial decisions.
They will also chair the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee. The ideal candidate will bring strong senior finance, accounting or financial management experience, ideally within the nonprofit sector, together with a good understanding of US nonprofit accounting and audit requirements.
Candidates should be based in the United States or have significant previous experience living and working there. A strong interest in poverty and social justice is important. The Board meets monthly by Zoom, with the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee meeting quarterly, and the overall commitment is approximately 2–3 hours per month.
