Assistant Manager Grant Audit

Turn your back on dull statutory audit assignments and take your audit skills into a truly rewarding and challenging specialist field.

Our partner provides essential audit and assurance services to major global institutions, including UN agencies, the World Bank, the European Commission, foundations and other development agencies. Their long-established, diverse and multilingual team is recognised as a global leader in this field, delivering and managing assurance work for international development grant-funded programmes around the world.

As an Audit Senior, you will play a key role in delivering assignments for international institutions and their partners. You will lead meetings with clients and beneficiaries, coordinate audit teams during fieldwork, review findings, and prepare clear, detailed reports. You will also represent the organisation in person with a range of senior stakeholders, using your technical, communication and language skills in a genuinely international setting.

This is a proactive and varied role, suited to someone who is confident managing their own workload, collaborating with colleagues, and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors and partners. You will also be encouraged to identify opportunities to strengthen delivery and provide additional support to the organisations the team works with.

International travel of up to 40% may be required, depending on assignment needs. You will also carry out remote audits, managing teams both on-site and virtually. Over time, you will build an in-depth understanding of the international development sector, donor requirements and the work of global institutions.

  • Identify issues and areas of non-compliance, and document these clearly and precisely in assignment reports
  • Lead larger country-wide teams, acting as the main client focal point
  • Deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines, managing time and priorities effectively

About you

You will bring:

  • A professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • A proven track record in audit and assurance work
  • A genuine interest in international development and a love of travel
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong German language skills, which are a minimum requirement for this role
  • The ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a professional, constructive and respectful manner
