Our partners are two small community-based organisations in Malawi working across vocational training, youth development and livelihoods support. Both organisations operate with relatively small local teams and are seeking practical, hands-on support to strengthen day-to-day financial management processes and systems.

They are seeking a volunteer accountant or finance professional to work closely alongside staff to strengthen budgeting, reporting, financial controls and wider financial management practices.

Key areas of support are likely to include:

• Strengthening day-to-day financial management processes
• Supporting budgeting and cashflow management
• Improving financial reporting and record keeping
• Reviewing practical financial controls and procedures
• Providing hands-on mentoring and support to local staff
• Reinforcing simple and sustainable financial systems

This is a highly practical, grassroots placement focused on supporting small organisations to build confidence and consistency in their financial management processes.

The placement would suit a collaborative and adaptable volunteer who is comfortable working closely with local teams in a supportive and hands-on capacity.
